Audi Declared Official Pace Car of the NATCC 06/05/96 The North American Touring Car Championship has chosen Audi of America to provide the Official Pace Car for the 1996 season. The pace car will be a blue Audi A4 Quattro, with special modifications by Director of NATCC Race Operations Amos Johnson. The installation of new racing seats, BBS wheels, and Michelin Pilot ultra high performance radials are among the modifications, as well as some changes to the suspension to enable it to endure the stress of the race track. The Audi A4 Quattro is also the current Super Touring World Championship car, which Frank Biela drove to win the Super Touring World Cup last October at Paul Ricard Circuit in France.
